Windows Media technology is for anyone who wishes to broadcast live audio or video on the Internet. Broadcast live events such as a radio station, sports events/scores, private functions, news, parties, corporate events and lots more. Windows Media offers the opportunity to stream clear uninterrupted and high bandwidth audio & video. These streams be used for either public access, secure private access, or access that has been paid for.

'Windows Media Streaming requires software developed by Microsoft, hardware of choice and an always on Internet connection.

Software:
This solution is a proven technology and used for many years by small companies to large corporations for Internet & Intranet use. Microsoft is also due to launch 'Windows Media 9', a breakthrough solution in high definition streaming bringing digital entertainment a step forward in to the future. Broadcasting software is provided for free from Microsoft, the media player is also available for free but is also bundled as standard on most computers and most popular software applications.

Hardware:
We recommend using a Pentium 4 PC with 256Mb Ram minimum & Windows 2000 operating system for best performance for audio & video encoding machines. An encoding machine sits at the source of audio or video and prepares the media for delivery to our server. We also recommend a high standard soundcard for best results for audio and a good video capture card for video. We can recommend the best choice.

Internet Connection:
An always on Internet connection is required in order to stream audio or video. Leased Lines, ADSL, Cable, ISDN and Satellite Internet connections are the available choices at the moment. This is because an always on Internet connection is required and the connection speed must exceed at least 25% of the stream bandwidth to ensure smooth uninterrupted delivery of your media. A dial up connection is unpractical.

We can provide all hardware & software required.

'It only takes from 24 to 48 hours to set up once all payments have been received and processed and all equipment is installed and operational. Installation is simple and can be performed by an average computer user. (go to support for more information)
